Ren Godby is a BFA printmaker at Florida Atlantic University and a freelance artist who works out of South Florida. Ren focuses on art referencing gender identity, fantastical creatures, and the grotesque. He has experience as both a graphic designer, printmaker, and general digital artist, and strives to create art that challenges traditional beauty. Beauty is a subjective matter, as is art. What one views as high art, another may see a piece that resonates with them as a child’s scribbles. Ren wishes for his own work to disturb those who wish not to challenge their own views and to please those who see beauty in the absurd, grotesque, and unconventional. There is beauty in the unconventionally attractive and bizarre.
