Katarina Iannucci

Digital Illustrator

Katarina Iannucci is an aspiring digital artist whose works delve into topics related to mental health and social commentary. Growing up as the quiet kid, she spent a lot of time listening to the stories of others and studying psychology to better understand her peers. She soon became enamored with digital media because of its intimate nature. With traditional materials, there is always a piece left behind, whether it’s ripped paper or ash. Digital art is different; when it is erased, it is gone forever. What she could not put into words she created into scenes; then it can be forgotten. Over the years, however, she has taken a new approach. Her art now serves as a way to connect to others without the need of a voice. By getting a bachelor’s in fine arts, she hopes to strengthen that connection even more.

Artist Statement

In her current body of work, she sheds light on the unspoken abuse of children at the hands of
the people who are supposed to protect them most. By exploring the functionality of projections, she once more engages in temporary scenes for the purpose of recreating events that often go overlooked.
