Artist Statement
Judgment Day is the artist’s first comic book series. It is about a group of recently dead
college students competing against each other in God’s games where the reward for winning is
being brought back to life. The main theme this series explores is how humans behave toward
each other when they are inside of an environment that encourages the cruel and sinful sides of humanity. This work is heavily influenced by the TV shows Big Brother and Squid Game due to their heavy emphasis on social hierarchy and erratic shifts of power among the players. The
series is drawn digitally in black and white on a drawing tablet using digital art software. The
series’ poster is drawn in color digitally using the same methods described before and printed on 24”x36” semi-gloss paper.
