Deleon Cross
Photographer
Deleon Cross grew up in South Florida surrounded by a creative and artistic family, which helped shape his love for art from a young age. He began exploring art at just ten years old, developing his skills and creativity through drawing and graphics. Deleon went on to attend Florida Atlantic University to study Studio Art with a focus in drawing, but along the way discovered a deep passion for photography. He later became a professional photographer as he now interns at the Strike Magazine in Boca for a year and has been in five exhibitions during his
time at Florida Atlantic.
Inspired by contemporary artists like Kehinde Wiley and Gregory Crewdson, Deleon’s work blends storytelling, emotion, and visual impact. His photography reflects his artistic background, capturing people, places, and moments with a painterly sense of composition and depth. For Deleon, art and photography are both ways to connect with others and express the world through
his own creative lens.

Artist Statement
As an Artist, my work serves as a personal narrative woven through the lens of my
experiences, feelings, and the world around me as I experienced different things throughout my life. Art is not just a medium for me; it is a language that allows me to communicate my
thoughts, personal feelings, creativity, and narrative to different people. As a photographer,
My artistic journey began to cope with the complexities of my personal life. Each body of
work I’ve created is a fragment of my story. As an exploration of identity, memory, and the
passage of time, I want the audience to understand where I came from. I draw inspiration from the moments that often go unnoticed and take many things I capture in life, and that, as a story, I can present to others – the play of light in a quiet room, the subtle exchange of glances between strangers, or the intricate details of nature. These elements resonate with my journey, emphasizing the beauty of the extraordinary and spirituality.
