Anabel Martinez is a multimedia artist raised in South Bay, on the edge of Palm Beach County, Florida. Growing up between her Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage, she was surrounded by storytelling.

​These experiences shaped her early understanding of art as a way to preserve stories and express oneself across different forms of media. Martinez centers her work on storytelling, exploring her personal experiences throughout the years. Her work encourages viewers to pause, observe, and reflect. She is particularly interested in expressing discomfort in her artwork, drawing most of her inspiration from her experience as a burn survivor. Much of her work explores ideas of limitation, and the beautiful discomfort of healing.

Working across both 2D and 3D media, Martinez combines her background in graphic design, painting, and mixed media to build her pieces. She began her journey as a painter in high school. As she reached college in 2020, she expanded into digital and multimedia practices. She earned her Associate of Art in Graphic Design, along with
certificates in Multimedia Studies and Web Design Technology, from Palm Beach State College. In 2024, she transferred to Florida Atlantic University to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.
