Frank Dima

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

I am a multimedia artist working at the intersection of studio art and digital design, with a focus on narrative-driven work. My practice is rooted in exploration, both in concept and execution. I often blend analog and digital processes to create work that feels constructed, fragmented, and intentional.

I begin each piece with illustration as well as 3D design. Working with my hands is an essential step before transitioning into a digital medium. Through the computer, I can push my work beyond the limitations of physical space, allowing for greater precision, clarity, and efficiency.

I’m drawn to work that pushes the boundary between physical and mental space. My work often reflects a tension between familiarity and fear, using contrast to explore how these elements coexist or conflict. I view each new project as an opportunity for discovery, beginning with reflection and developing through sketching, iteration, and experimentation. Each piece I create is intended to serve a purpose within the space it inhabits.

Rather than focusing on a single fixed outcome, I treat my design as an evolving system—one that allows space for unexpected results and new interpretations. My goal is to create work that not only communicates clearly but also invites curiosity and unease, encouraging viewers to question what they’re seeing and how it was constructed.
