SCULPTURE
I am a mixed media installation artist currently earning a BFA in Visual Art with a concentration in Sculpture and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Florida Atlantic University. Throughout my studies, my work has served as both an outlet for processing repressed emotional experiences and a means of healing. It also creates space for dialogue around feminist theory, particularly in relation to gender roles and emotional expression, slut-shaming, sexual and gender-based violence, and the ways contemporary political climates impact relationships and bodily autonomy.
My work addresses not only these lived experiences but also the systems that produce them, including religion, patriarchy, and cultural norms. I am especially interested in how these structures manifest within familiar spaces and environments. My material choices vary depending on the needs of each piece, often combining sculpture, textiles, sound, and installation to create immersive environments.
I am currently developing a body of work that examines trauma associated with the Catholic Church, connecting contemporary experiences of sexual and gender-based violence to historical events such as the European witch hunts. By working with forms inspired by Catholic architecture and recontextualizing them through Pagan and Wiccan symbolism, I aim to shift these structures from sites of control into spaces for healing, both individually and collectively.
Using the Latin root of reconciliation, reconciliare, meaning “ again with eyelashes,” as a conceptual foundation, my work emphasizes closeness, empathy, and shared humanity. I aim to create spaces that encourage reflection, connection, and the possibility of repair.
